Caring for knitwear

A well-made knit is more than just a garment — it’s a piece of quiet luxury. But knitwear, often delicate by nature, reacts quickly to wear, washing, and everyday life. To stand the test of time, it deserves attentive care.

A few tips

Dry Cleaning Recommended
To preserve its shape, colour, and longevity, we recommend entrusting your knitwear to professional cleaners — especially when it comes to structured woven garments like coats, jackets, or trousers. These should never be machine-washed, as this may cause severe shrinkage or felting.

Ironing
If ironing is required (on collars or button plackets, for instance), lightly mist the area with water or use a pressing cloth to protect the fibres. Always iron on low heat and avoid direct contact with the knit surface.

Washing
Some knits may be washed by hand in cold water using a detergent specifically formulated for wool or delicate fibres. Avoid fabric softeners and never soak the garment. Turn it inside out before washing.
Select models may be machine-washable — but only using a very delicate cycle, inside a mesh laundry bag, and with a spin speed no higher than 400 rpm. Always check the care label before proceeding.

Drying
Never wring out your knitwear. Gently press out excess water with a towel and lay it flat to dry, reshaping it as needed. Avoid hanging, which can stretch the fibres.

WHAT ABOUT DELICATE PIECES?

Some knits may tolerate a gentle machine cycle — but for more fragile styles, especially in cashmere, handwashing is strongly recommended. Use the proper detergent, avoid scrubbing, and let the piece soak for 15 minutes before rinsing with clean water. Press gently between towels and dry flat.

REFRESHING WITHOUT WASHING

To refresh a knit without washing, gently brush the surface to lift away dust and particles. Then air the piece in a cool, well-ventilated area — ideally outdoors, away from direct sunlight.
