Women in Fursac is an everyday takeover

#embraceequity
On Women's Day, the House of Fursac celebrates five French Women Entrepreneurs who, each in their own field of activity, have managed to make a difference.

Invited to select pieces of their choice, but above all to reinterpret it, they skilfully curated pieces from the mens wardrobe, playing with preconceived codes and ideas beyond any notion of gender.

Amelle Chahbi, actress, writer and director has made her mark both on stage and in front of and behind the camera. Her first documentary Pourquoi nous détestent-ils ? (2016) focuses on anti-Arab racism in France.

"Wearing men's clothing on Women's Day is a symbol of the changing world! And it is changing very fast. The patriarchy is collapsing, words are being unleashed, young people are getting involved, gender is being blurred, the world is trying to unite as best it can. And it's very positive! I feel good, beautiful, and sexy. Like every time I take a piece from my man's wardrobe."

Ingrid Estarque, dancer, and choreographer. She is involved in a process of transmission through numerous socio-cultural projects and teaches improvisation and stage expression techniques.

"I don't like monotone colours and really loved this colourful, sun-filled look. Wearing men's clothes for Women's Day was not a big change for me though as I like to be free to do so and wear what I want according to my desires and energies of the moment.”

Coralie Kory, founder of the restaurants Le Tricycle and Jah Jah, creates and reinvents authentic Afro-Caribbean and vegan cuisine daily.

"I DON'T FEEL LIKE I DRESS LIKE A MAN AND I'M NOT USED TO GENDERING CLOTHES. I'M NOT NECESSARILY INTERESTED IN MEN'S OR WOMEN'S CLOTHING. I'M MORE INTERESTED IN BEING COMFORTABLE IN THE CLOTHES I WEAR, THAT I FEEL GOOD, BEAUTIFUL AND NATURAL in."

Violaine Orsoni, co-founder of the Studio de direction artistique Violaine et Jérémy, is involved in several projects and collaborations, always with the aim of maintaining the highest level of artistic and creative quality.

" I have strongly embraced my masculine side from a young age. I have deliberately chosen fresh colours that I feel men should allow themselves more often."

Frankie Wallach, actress and director, directed her first movie Trop d'Amour in 2021, a family portrait telling the story of her grandmother, an Auschwitz survivor. In 2023 she appeared in two feature films: Le livre des solutions by Michel Gondry and Marinetteby Virginie Verrier.

"I feel much better in a man's cut and less compressed than in a woman's size. I feel much more myself and bubbly wearing a suit than a dress. I love the big shoulder pad that make me feel bigger and stronger."
This campaign also marks Fursac's commitment to the Force Femmes charity, who, since 2005 has been helping unemployed women over the age of 45 to reintegrate into the world of work, guiding them towards autonomy in the building of their professional project.
